A 45-year-old man has been taken to hospital after being injured with a knife outdoors. The incident occurred at 02:30 in Ystad. According to Region Skåne, the man has life-threatening injuries.

There was some kind of brawl that resulted in a man getting stab wounds in the abdomen, says Oskar Lund, station commander in Ystad.

A 40-year-old man has been arrested, suspected of attempted murder, according to police spokesperson Evelina Olsson.

We received information and descriptions from the scene that led to this arrest. We have now lifted the cordon this morning.

The motive behind the attempted murder is not known. The police also do not know if the victim and perpetrator knew each other beforehand.

We have not been able to hear from either of them, says Olsson.
