People who have well-treated HIV should no longer be covered by the controversial disclosure requirement, according to Minister for Social Affairs Jakob Forssmed (KD).
The government has now decided to investigate the issue.
"Almost all people living with HIV today have well-established treatment, which means there is no risk of transmission during sexual contact. Treating physicians can already exempt people with well-established treatment from the disclosure requirement, but knowledge of and application of this possibility vary, and it is therefore urgent to review the disclosure requirement," says Minister for Social Affairs Jakob Forssmed in a press release.
The disclosure requirement means that a person with HIV is obliged to inform their sexual partners about the infection.
