AIK increasingly close to relegation

Trelleborg will play in the Elite League in 2025. AIK is also getting closer to relegation. Kif Örebro's victory over Piteå was a heavy blow in the women's top league's relegation battle. Now we're putting pressure on AIK, says Örebro's Wilma Öhman.

After Kif Örebro's 1–0 win away against Piteå, it's an advantage for the Örebro team with six rounds left in the battle for the qualifying spot.

Örebro is three points ahead of AIK, who simultaneously got a 2–2 draw at home against Brommapojkarna.

It means a lot, says Kif Örebro's Wilma Öhman to Viaplay.

Lost the lead

The winning goal came in the 19th minute when Nora Harnes Håheim finished off a counterattack by scoring 1–0. Despite hard pressure from Piteå during the second half, the visitors held on.

It was a tough last half hour. In terms of play, it's not very beautiful, but we score a great goal and today it's enough, says Öhman.

AIK lost 1–0 to 1–2 at home against BP, but Adelisa Grabus secured a point after precisely shooting in the equalizer in the 64th minute. And it could have been more.

"Deserve to be in the top league"

With ten minutes left, Nina Jakobsson was knocked down by BP's Tuva Ölvestad, and the home team demanded a penalty. However, referee Satu Miettunen chose to let it go.

In added time, AIK also hit the crossbar.

Today, we show that we're a better team than BP and deserve to be in the top league. And that's what we're going to fight for, says Adelisa Grabus to Viaplay.

For Trelleborg, the train has probably already left. On Sunday, they suffered another loss, 0–4 away against Linköping, and with only two points scored throughout the entire season, it will take a minor miracle for TFF to catch up with the 13 points that separate them from Kif Örebro.
