The rain is pouring down in Western Norway.
The bad weather has been named Jakob, and moved in during the night to Thursday.
The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) issued a red warning – the most severe level – on Wednesday due to the risk of landslides and flooding.
"This is a very serious situation, where many landslides are expected to occur. Several of them can have major consequences. Large landslides can affect buildings, roads or railways", says Emil Solbakken, landslide responsible at NVE according to a statement.
The worst consequences are feared to come first when the rain has subsided. The warnings are currently in place until Friday evening.
This is just the beginning, says on-duty meteorologist Marit Berger to the news agency NTB.
