Benjamin Ingrosso has been voted TV personality of the year for two years in a row for his cooking program "Benjamins" on TV4. This year, the pop star is nominated for a prize for his documentary series "This is Benjamin Ingrosso" which was broadcast on Max.
Bianca Ingrosso has received several nominations, two for entertainment program of the year, "Bianca" on Max, and as female presenter of the year – where she is up against her mother Pernilla Wahlgren who is highlighted for "Allsång på Skansen" on SVT. The long-running "Wahlgrens värld" can also win a prize, as reality program of the year.
The Kristallen awards will be presented for the 20th time this year. New this year is that it will be in a slimmed-down version, in an extended "Efter fem" on TV4 on September 5 with actress Arantxa Alvarez as host. After the gala, SVT will follow up with its own program.
It has always been the case that the different channel houses have decided how we should distribute the gala, and this year they have chosen to test a new approach, says Anders Knave, chairman of the board of Kristallen.
Other award ceremonies, such as the Grammis music awards and the Football Gala, have disappeared completely from linear TV and are only broadcast on the internet. Long galas no longer attract as large an audience as before. Anders Knave, who has many years of experience from CEO jobs in TV Sweden, sees it as natural that Kristallen takes a new approach.
It is actually a question for the channels, but I think this is a change that is in line with the times. And as often with a change, a lot of good things also come, says Knave.
