Some of these are soldiers who died when Mariupol fell into Russian hands in May of the same year, reports AFP.

Kiev has simultaneously handed over the remains of 38 Russian soldiers to Russia, announces the center for the treatment of prisoners of war in Kiev. The exchange was mediated by the International Red Cross.

This is one of the largest operations of its kind, says the center's spokesperson Petro Jatsenko.

The Ukrainian air defense has shot down eleven Russian drones during the night to Friday, reports the air force on Telegram.

The attack comes two days after one of the largest drone attacks so far during the war. On Wednesday, Russia sent 89 drones and a robot, all of which were shot down, according to the air force in Kiev.

Meanwhile, Russia claims that Ukraine has attacked the annexed Crimean Peninsula with American Atacms rockets and drones.

Sevastopol's Russian-appointed governor Mikhail Razvozjajev claims that fragments from drones and rockets have been found in the city and fires have broken out in several places.

Ukraine has not commented on the allegations.
