A 25-year-old woman has been taken to hospital with unknown injuries after a car drove into a bus shelter at Gustav Adolfs Square in central Malmö.

The woman was standing and waiting for the bus at around 11 pm when the car drove straight into the bus shelter for unknown reasons.

We have spoken to people who have stated that the car was traveling at high speed, says police spokesperson Patric Fors.

Two men were in the car and fled the scene but were apprehended shortly after.

The police are investigating the incident as gross negligence in traffic, causing bodily harm, leaving the scene of an accident, and suspected drug-impaired driving.

One of the arrested individuals was also taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

This person and the woman have been able to be questioned by the police, says Patric Fors.
