The charges against film director Roman Polanski for yet another sexual assault on a minor in the 1970s have been withdrawn. The parties reached a "mutual agreement" last summer, according to Polanski's lawyer Alexander Rufus-Isaacs. Last year, the woman sued Polanski for assaulting her in 1973 when she was 13 years old. According to the woman, the director took her out to a restaurant in Los Angeles and gave her tequila before driving her home and forcing himself on her.
The woman's lawyer has stated that Polanski subjected her client to "enormous physical and emotional pain."
The woman sued Polanski in 2023 while there were still extended opportunities to report sexual crimes in California.
The now 91-year-old Roman Polanski was arrested in the USA in 1977, accused of drugging and raping another 13-year-old girl. He admitted to the rape and served 42 days in prison, but then fled to France.
