Already in May, the news came that Adrian Newey – considered the top designer in the Formula 1 circus – is leaving Red Bull at the beginning of 2025. Aston Martin and owner Lawrence Stroll are now confirming that Newey will be employed by the British stable from March next year.
Newey has been with Red Bull since 2006, just one year after the team was started. Since then, Sebastian Vettel (2010-2013) and Max Verstappen (2021-2023) have together won the drivers' championship seven times for Red Bull. The stable has also won six constructor championships since the 65-year-old Briton was employed.
Even next season, Aston Martin's driver duo will consist of Lance Stroll – son of owner Lawrence Stroll – and veteran Fernando Alonso.
