Defeat for AIK – Gustafson broke the star's zero

He kept a clean sheet in five Allsvenskan matches. Then Simon Gustafson broke Kristoffer Nordfeldt's trend. AIK's 0-2 loss to Häcken was also a setback in the battle for European play.

AIK goalkeeper has recently made several match-deciding saves, but when Simon Gustafson stepped forward, he was powerless.

Kristoffer Nordfeldt could only watch as the ball ended up in the net. Then he raised his arms in a resigned gesture.

Nice goal by Gustafson

Häcken's goal in the 56th minute put an end to the 35-year-old's magnificent trend of keeping a clean sheet for over five and a half Allsvenskan matches.

And it was a delicate goal that Gustafson offered.

Mikkel Rygaard lifted the free kick nicely and the teammate simply used the side of his foot to steer in the leading goal on the volley.

Gustafson enjoyed the full hit extra much, celebrated towards the home fans – which resulted in a warning and he is suspended for the match against Elfsborg on October 19.

Table-topping Häcken, who after a tough period took their second straight win, then secured the full points when Ali Youssef sent in 2–0 in the 73rd minute.

We came out and played our own football, we fought and ran for each other, says Youssef to Max.

For me, it's important that we win, that I get to contribute with the goal that secured the match is nice.

"Small margins"

AIK coach Mikkjal Thomassen:

It was a tight match, but Häcken was better, he says to Max.

We were punished on a free kick, where we lost the match, but it was small margins.

After nine straight matches without defeat, including eight wins, the Solna club finally suffered a loss. Lost points that can be costly in the hunt for European play.

While Malmö FF has a grip on the championship title, Hammarby and Djurgården – who got 1–1 at home against Kalmar FF – are two points ahead of AIK in the table.
