Pittsburgh plays its season premiere against NY Rangers on Thursday night, Swedish time, next week. Most indications are that Karlsson will then be on the ice. Likely in a defensive pair with his compatriot Marcus Pettersson.
The premiere has always been the goal and it looks like it's going to work out, says Karlsson.
This will be his 16th season in NHL and his second in a Pittsburgh jersey. Last year, he scored 56 points in 82 games with Pittsburgh, who missed the playoffs.
