Djurgården fell in Patrick Thoresen's return

Norwegian hockey star Patrick Thoresen, 40 years old, had to start with a loss when he began his third stint in Djurgården. Bik Karlskoga won in Stockholm with 2–1 after penalties, as Theodor Pistek decided the HockeyAllsvenskan meeting.

I feel like it's been a while since I played matches. I've been here for 36 hours and it takes a while before you start feeling like you know your teammates, says Thoresen to TV4 Play.

Despite the loss, he enjoyed being back in Djurgården, which he previously represented in 2003-06 and 2015-16.

It's fantastic, I got goosebumps when I stepped onto the ice, says the forward, who has played in the NHL and become a champion in the KHL twice, to TV4 Play.

Djurgården had drawn 7,789 spectators to their home premiere.

Thoresen scored a goal in the penalty shootout, but it didn't help.

Both teams scored their three regular penalties, Karlskoga decided in the first extra round when Linus Klasen missed the home team's penalty.

Karlskoga took their second straight win in the series opener - a win over Almtuna in the premiere - while Djurgården has one win on penalties (against Oskarshamn) and one loss.

It's the quality of the passing game that's lacking. We make it too hard for each other, thinks Patrick Thoresen.
