There was chaos when the tickets to Håkan Hellström's concert at Ullevi on June 6 next year were released. Those who had registered in advance could buy two days before the official ticket release, and the giant arena, which can hold over 70,000 spectators, was quickly booked up.
It's common to do pre-sales of tickets to reward fans, which has been the whole idea behind this. But that a larger concert has sold out completely at pre-sale in this way has not happened with a Swedish artist before, to my knowledge, says Joel Borg at Håkan Hellström's company Tro & Tvivel.
Shortly after, the news came that there would be another concert with Håkan Hellström, on June 7. Tickets were also released in advance for that one.
When we noticed that the pressure was so enormous, we released more tickets so that more people could buy and later decided to release the extra concert, explains Joel Borg.
But this made many fans feel deceived. The booking company FKP Scorpio was contacted by angry fans who had expected the tickets to be released on August 30.
Now Joel Borg wants to calm the fans. It's still possible to get tickets to both concerts, since the organizer is working on releasing more seats. They will be released on Friday.
Håkan Hellström will place the stage in the middle of the arena, which means that more people will be able to see the concerts than before.
We're working on the arena layout now to get as many good tickets as possible. But we expect extremely high pressure then, says Joel Borg.
