General Motors performs better than expected

The American car manufacturer General Motors (GM) is increasing its profit forecast for 2024 in a quarterly report.

The adjusted operating result is now estimated at 14-15 billion dollars. The previous forecast range was 13-15 billion.

For the third quarter, GM is simultaneously reporting a 10 percent increase in net sales to 48.8 billion dollars, which was more than the expected 44.7 billion.

The profit per share rose to 2.96 dollars, up from 2.28 dollars a year earlier. The average forecast among analysts was 2.45 dollars per share, according to Bloomberg's compilation of forecasts.
