AB Volvo competitor Paccar reports a profit before tax of 1.26 billion dollars for the third quarter of the year, 21 percent lower than the profit for the corresponding quarter last year.
The setback was not quite as large as feared. The average forecast was 1.24 billion dollars, according to Bloomberg.
Deliveries of trucks fell 10 percent to 44,900 units, also slightly better than expected. The average forecast among analysts was 43,840.
Revenue decreased 5.2 percent compared to the previous year, to 8.2 billion dollars.
