Criticized by AIK fans in advance. Praised by TV critics afterwards.

John Guidetti is back on the football pitch and has one European Championship broadcast left on TV.

I'll definitely always get crap, he says.

When John Guidetti was presented as one of SVT's experts in the studio in Stockholm during the European Championship in Germany in May, it made headlines.

From AIK supporter circles, criticism was directed at the 32-year-old striker who hadn't played a match since August last year due to injury problems. Being a TV expert and trying to make a comeback from a serious injury at the same time is not compatible, some thought.

On Sunday, Guidetti played his first Allsvenskan match in eleven months when he came on in the end of the home loss against Kalmar FF (1–2). Five days after making his latest TV appearance on Tuesday during SVT's broadcast of the European Championship quarterfinal between Austria and Turkey.

This week, Aftonbladet's sports columnist Marcus Leifby called Guidetti a "lucky hit" as a TV expert, and on social media, he has been praised. Guidetti himself believes he has received both crap and praise for his TV performances.

I don't know. I'll definitely always get crap, you try to sift. I'm a bit like that colander where you throw in the pasta: take out the water and let the pasta stay, he said when he met the media after his Allsvenskan comeback.

On Wednesday, in the TV broadcast of the European Championship semifinal between the Netherlands and England, Guidetti will make his final championship broadcast for this time.

I'm extremely grateful for the nice words I've received, absolutely. It hasn't taken away, but it has given energy.
