The people in Karlskrona who fell ill from cookies were poisoned by hash, according to prosecutor Lena-Marie Bergström. The hospital has written it down as a diagnosis in the medical records, she says.

Samples have been sent to the National Forensic Centre, but no response has been received yet. The prosecutor has, however, taken note of the hospital's diagnosis.

The individuals' symptoms are said to have been caused by hash. But I don't know yet what tests they took and how they arrived at that diagnosis, says Lena-Marie Bergström.

Since I don't know what level it's about, or if it was just hash in the cakes. It's possible that there could have been several things in them.

Eaten pastries

The police were alerted on Wednesday evening that several people in an apartment in the Kungsmarken district of Karlskrona had poisoning symptoms after eating some kind of pastry.

Nine people, including several children, were affected. Two of them were so badly off that they initially required intensive care. Several of the individuals affected by poisoning symptoms belong to the same family, but also included friends of the family.

According to the mother of the family, who was not at home at the time, the family and their guests had eaten a pancake-like cake.

The mother received information that the police and ambulance personnel were at her home address. She tried to call her children but got no response, and then rushed home.

"Thought they were dead"

When I later saw my family, I initially thought they were all dead. They were completely knocked out and asleep, the mother has previously told SVT News Blekinge.

The children and the father in the affected family were allowed to return home from the hospital on Friday. The condition of the two individuals who had been in intensive care was also reported to be stable at that time.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault, but denies the crime. Prosecutor Lena-Marie Bergström does not want to elaborate on her view of the sequence of events at present.

But I mean that there are circumstances in the case that are peculiar, she says.
