Heavy rain showers swept across large parts of the country on Sunday. According to Katarina Andersson, meteorologist at SMHI, the rain will subside in the evening.

Götaland received 30-50 millimeters of rain during Sunday morning, and around 80 houses were water-damaged, according to TV4 News. The Onsalahalvön area in Halland was the most affected.

It was everything from completely flooded basements to water on the ground floor. The terraced houses are badly affected, but there are very large differences, says Lotta Molander, alarm and control operator at the rescue service, to the channel.

The Stockholm area was also severely affected by the heavy rain showers. Aftonbladet reported that the Södra Länken was closed in both directions for a few hours in the afternoon due to flooding. At the Enskede Gård subway station, the ticket hall was filled with water, forcing SL to close the station, according to Expressen. At the Tele2 Arena, the Allsvenskan football match between Djurgårdens IF and IFK Göteborg was postponed by an hour due to the rain.

From Denmark, there were also reports of heavy rain showers. According to Ritzau, several roads in Copenhagen were closed, and the police advised against driving on the water-filled streets. In the afternoon, Ritzau reported that the bad weather was moving towards Bornholm.
