Inhabitants in two areas in Tyre on Lebanon's southern coast are ordered to leave their homes. Even Lebanese citizens in Burj al-Shamali, just east of Tyre, are urged to take cover.
"You are close to Hezbollah's installations and interests," reads one of the messages from the military spokesperson Avichay Adraee on X.
On maps published on X, buildings have been circled in red. Residents of the houses in question and those nearby are urged to evacuate and keep a distance of at least 500 meters.
A short while earlier, a similar warning was issued to residents in the Bekaa region in eastern Lebanon. Even in that warning, specific buildings in the area are mentioned. Such statements are often followed by large-scale Israeli airstrikes.
On Thursday morning, the Lebanese Shia militia Hezbollah claims to have attacked two Israeli tanks in southern Lebanon, reports news agency AFP.
According to a statement from the Iran-backed movement, the tanks were attacked with remotely controlled robots near the Lebanese village of Labbouneh. Israel has not commented on the reports.
