Star player Kane, who has scored 66 goals for England, saw substitute Cole Palmer equalize to 1-1 before Mikel Oyarzabal secured the European Championship title for Spain with a 2-1 goal.
Thus, England will have to continue waiting for their first European Championship title – and after the loss, Kane was naturally disappointed.
Losing in a final is as tough as it gets. We did really well to come back into the match with 1-1, but then we couldn't use our momentum to drive on... It's as painful as it can be in a football match, he says.
In total, Kane, who now resides in Bayern München, has scored 417 goals in 656 matches for club and country.
He has won the top scorer title in the Premier League (2016, 2017, and 2021), World Championship (2018), Champions League (2024), and Bundesliga (2024). But his first title – with a club or the national team – he will have to continue waiting for.
