The independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr is considering giving up his candidacy and instead backing the Republican Donald Trump in the autumn election in the USA.
This is according to Kennedy's vice presidential candidate Nicole Shanahan, according to CNBC.
The only alternative she sees is that the two continue to fight and try to get more than 5 percent of the votes to "establish themselves" as a real third alternative alongside the two major parties, the Democrats and the Republicans.
These are the two alternatives we are looking at, she says, and continues that the great risk of continuing on their own is that it helps the Democrat Kamala Harris.
For we would take votes from Trump, or even get more votes than Trump, she says in the podcast Impact theory.
The decision is not given, and absolutely not easy, she emphasizes.
Robert F Kennedy Jr is aiming to be on the ballots in all 50 states in the USA in the autumn presidential election. He has no chance of winning the election, but his candidacy has caused concern in both Trump's and Harris' camps, as he may come to pick up important votes in decisive swing states.
Measurements show that he may come to attract voters to the same extent from both candidates.
