Difficult conditions with rain and wind shook up the top of the British Open in golf ahead of Sunday's decisive round.

American Billy Horschel leads the major tournament at Royal Troon.

Daniel Brown seemed to be heading for the lead ahead of the decisive round. But the Englishman dropped three strokes in the last two holes and went two over par for the day. He is, however, tied for second, just one stroke behind leader Billy Horschel, ahead of the decisive round.

The biggest collapse, among the top players, was made by Friday's leader. Irishman Shane Lowry made 77 strokes (six over par) and lies ninth – three strokes behind the leader.

Alex Norén was the only Swede to make the cut and continue playing on Saturday in the British Open. The Swede finished on par after four birdies and four bogeys and thus lies two over par ahead of Sunday's conclusion.

Norén is tied for 15th place, six strokes behind Horschel.
