The stars Lionel Messi and Julián Álvarez made the difference when Argentina advanced to the final of the South American Championship.

Messi has scored 28 goals in the last 25 national team matches he has played for Argentina. The goal against Canada became his 14th ever in the South American Championship, which reigning World Champions Argentina last won in 2021.

The future in the national team is uncertain for the 37-year-old Messi.

But Messi knows that the end is approaching.
