Ukraine has carried out a drone attack on an ammunition factory in western Russia, according to a military source in Kiev for the news agency AFP.
The attack is said to have been carried out with explosive drones, one of which hit the military facility in the city of Kotovsk in the Tambov region in central Russia. It is unclear to what extent the factory was damaged. According to the military source, the ammunition factory has been attacked on two previous occasions.
Kiev has stepped up air strikes against military facilities, refineries, and oil depots in Russia in recent months. At the same time, Russia has systematically attacked energy facilities and other infrastructure in Ukraine, which has prompted President Volodymyr Zelensky to appeal to his allies for more air defense systems.
