Five people who were detained on suspicion of a murder in Jönköping last winter have been released, according to the Prosecution Authority.

The reason is a lack of evidence.

"Following a review of the investigation material, I have come to the conclusion that the evidence is not sufficient for a conviction," says prosecutor Maria Lundberg in a press release.

It was on 14 January that a man was found dead in a woodland area. According to the forensic pathologist, the man died from hypothermia and blunt force trauma inflicted by one or more individuals.

The criminal suspicions remain, and several investigative measures remain. However, all those who were detained have been released.
