Tough for Åberg
Norén started with a birdie on the second hole, but then it was over with the fun. It became bogey on two par 5 holes during his first nine holes, and during the second half of the round, the 42-year-old had to note three more bogeys. With 75 strokes for the day and a total of +2, Norén falls back on the leaderboard.
The Swedish world number four Ludvig Åberg gets the weekend off. Åberg ended up five over par for the day and +9 overall.
The 24-year-old had mainly problems with putting, but also ended up in a bush on the ninth hole and got a penalty stroke. With +9, Åberg finished far from the cut.
Eight years after Henrik Stenson in 2016 became the first Swedish male golfer to win a major tournament through the British Open title on Royal Troon, the 48-year-old was back on the course on the Scottish west coast.
"Equal Miseries"
The adventure this time ended already after two rounds. Stenson – who has been playing on the Saudi Arabia-sponsored LIV tour since 2022 – went through the first round on 77 strokes (+6) and on Friday it became 73 strokes, two over par.
With a total of +8, Stenson missed the cut, which ended up at +6.

Alexander Björk finished Friday ten over par, and +12 overall.
