Rytting Kaneryd behind the win – sank Aston Villa

The club has won the last four seasons. But Chelsea wants more. The road to further trophy lifts became 1-0 against Aston Villa – with Johanna Rytting Kaneryd as the match winner.

The reigning champion team Chelsea got a taste of the Super League season.

And to a large extent, it was thanks to a Swedish national team player.

Johanna Rytting Kaneryd decided the 1–0 home match against Aston Villa.

The 27-year-old feinted twice with her right foot before shooting with the other foot. The shot from outside the penalty area then curved nicely into goalkeeper Sabrina D'Angelo's far corner.

The Swede's delicate goal was scored after 36 minutes at Kingsmeadow – and thus became the club's first step of many in the pursuit of defending the title trend in the league.

Zecira Musovic and Nathalie Björn, Rytting Kaneryd's Swedish teammates, watched the match from the bench.

The Super League continues over the weekend with, among other things, the Swedish team Arsenal's home match against Manchester City, which is played on Sunday. In the London club, there are Stina Blackstenius, Lina Hurtig, and Rosa Kafaji. Amanda Ilestedt is absent as she recently became a mother to a daughter.
