Max Verstappen has been dominant in the F1 world in recent years and has driven home three straight titles.

This season, the Dutchman is being pressed by a Brit.

Norris superior

Lando Norris won at Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore's GP and made sure to take in points in the overall standings. However, it wasn't many, as Verstappen – who hasn't won any of the last eight GP races – rolled in as second.

But the way the 24-year-old won sends a clear signal ahead of the season's final six GP events.

Norris started in pole position, maintained the lead from start to finish, and saw to it that the gap to overall leader Verstappen was over 20 seconds.

I didn't want a lead of one second, I wanted the biggest possible, says Norris in Viaplay's broadcast.

It was under control, the car was incredible, and I could push on. We flew through the entire race. But it was still tough, and I'm still trying to catch my breath.

Solo drive for Verstappen

Verstappen got a messy start but sorted out the situations and then got to drive largely without anyone around him.

Yes, it was my race, driving alone... I tried to do my best and manage the pace to the end, says he in Viaplay's broadcast.

Ahead of a weekend where we knew in advance that we would struggle, this was still a good performance, but of course, we're not satisfied with being second. Now we need to get better and better.
