The 29-year-old is included in the squad for Tuesday evening's Champions League match against Galatasaray.
Hegerberg has, for unclear reasons, been absent at the beginning of the season for the French top club.
"Ada and I have talked and she is very pleased with the season start. She looks forward to the season with Lyon and the Norwegian national team. When it comes to her physical status, it is the club that will provide the details", said national team coach Gemma Grainger to NTB two weeks ago.
Hegerberg was also absent from Norway's two final European Championship qualifying matches in July. She has only started one of eight matches under new national team coach Grainger.
In late October, Norway will face Albania in two playoff matches for the European Championship.
