Gustaf Nilsson is steaming ahead in Belgium.

The national team striker has changed clubs within the country's borders.

The 27-year-old is set for Club Brugge.

Since leaving German Wehen Wiesbaden, the Swede has belonged to Belgian Royale Union Saint-Gilloise. There, the goals have continued to flow in, and the Swede has made a strong impression in the Belgian league. In 93 matches, he has scored 27 goals and provided seven assists.

This has not only earned him a spot in the national team but also a move to the reigning Belgian champions, Club Brugge.

Nilsson has signed a contract that runs until 2028. According to Belgian media, the transfer fee is said to be around 6-7 million euros, equivalent to approximately 70-80 million kronor.

Thus, the Swede gets the chance to play Champions League football for the first time in his career next season, which, with the league title, also qualified for play in the top tier of football.

Nilsson has made six international appearances, scoring three goals. In March earlier this year, he scored two goals in the same gathering. One against Portugal (2–5) and one against Albania (1–0).

Corrected: In an earlier version, the wrong country was stated in the image caption. The correct country should be Belgium.
