A 55-year-old man has died in connection with a wagon blowing over at Kivik's market on Österlen.

I perceive it as a market wagon in the form of a trailer, says police spokesperson Rickard Lundqvist.

Three more people were injured in connection with the incident. One of them was taken to hospital with moderate injuries, while the other two people have been referred to a health center.

According to the police, it is a wagon about ten meters long that overturned.

The police have cordoned off the entire amusement park area, but the market is still open. The incident is being investigated as gross negligence leading to another's death and bodily harm. No one is currently suspected or detained.

It's terribly sad, it's a tragedy, says Anders Strand, market manager for Kivik's market to TT.

Otherwise, he does not want to comment on the incident until the investigation is completed.

"A woman just cried"

Rebecca Holst and her daughter Isabella Hagerman were selling candies at a stand right next to the accident site.

Suddenly, a lot of people came walking. They didn't run and no one screamed, but a woman with a child just cried. I think she was in shock, says Isabella Hagerman.

She continues to tell that it was blowing strongly when the accident occurred.

A whole table with cream puffs overturned. We also had to hold onto our tent.

"It shouldn't be able to happen"

Rebecca Holst thinks it's tragic that the safety wasn't better.

It shouldn't be able to happen. You should be able to go to the amusement park with your children. What has happened is terrible and now we'll see how many days we'll stay here.

The incident occurred at 4 pm on Friday during the first day of Kivik's market. The market continues until Sunday.
