Malmö District Court rejects the request because Paludan has hung up on the court several times when they have tried to contact him, reports P4 Malmöhus. Therefore, it is unsuitable to conduct the main trial from a location that the court does not have control over, reasons Malmö District Court.
Paludan has, through his lawyer, stated that there is a serious threat against him and if he travels to Sweden, he will not be allowed to bring his Danish bodyguards.
It was when the court was to serve him with the indictment that he hung up. Since the service took a long time, there was a risk that the statute of limitations for one of the crimes he is charged with, defamation, would be exceeded.
Whether Rasmus Paludan is considered to have been served with the indictment, including the part concerning defamation, is still not settled, says chief magistrate Nicklas Söderberg to TT.
