The water quality in the river has been a hot topic ahead of the Olympics in Paris, which officially begins in nine days, after being heavily polluted for several years.
Major efforts have been made to get the river clean in time for the Olympic opening ceremony, which also takes place on the river, and now several important people, including the mayor, have taken a dip in the Seine to prove just that.
The water is very, very good. A bit cold, but it wasn't that bad, said Hidalgo to AP after the dip.
