A police officer on a business trip in Nyköping hid his service weapon – with accompanying magazine and cartridges – in his hotel room. He then forgot it there, writes Södermanlands Nyheter.
The incident occurred in May this year. The pistol, which was hidden under the mattress in the hotel room, was later found by the hotel staff.
The Police Authority has now issued a disciplinary action against the police officer in question, who is punished with a salary deduction.
"He did not perform a sufficient thorough control to ensure that the service weapon was brought along", writes the authority in its decision.
