According to several media outlets, it was a suspected shooting and later the police announced that finds on the site suggest that the embassy was hit by shots.

The incident is being investigated as a serious weapons offense. No one has been arrested.

The police are tight-lipped about the details and do not want to comment on any other potential finds.

Since earlier, there has been increased security around the embassy and increased police presence due to several incidents earlier this year.

A 15-year-old boy was convicted in June for serious weapons offense after he was arrested on May 16 with a loaded pistol in a taxi on his way to the embassy. The following evening, May 17, a shooting occurred at the embassy that the police failed to stop.

In January, a hand grenade was thrown at the embassy without detonating.

The Israeli intelligence service Mossad has pointed out both the shooting and the grenade as Iranian commissioned jobs carried out by Swedish gang criminals.
