A 25-year-old Swedish citizen has been arrested in Denmark as a suspect in an attempted murder, reports the news agency Ritzau. He is suspected of having traveled to Denmark to commit a contract killing and of having attempted to murder an unnamed person, according to Danish TV2.
This is said to have occurred at some point between Monday and Wednesday, according to the prosecutor. The man was arrested on Wednesday in Copenhagen, and later the same day, a 19-year-old Danish citizen was also arrested.
The suspicions against the Swede also include attempted illegal possession of firearms. At the detention hearing in the Copenhagen District Court, it emerged that he is suspected of having attempted to obtain a firearm with ammunition at a hotel in Copenhagen. However, the delivery of the weapon was delayed, and therefore the planned murder could not be carried out, according to the prosecutor.
The 19-year-old is suspected of aiding and abetting, among other things by arranging accommodation for the Swede. Both were detained for 27 days.
