Two men in their 30s are sentenced by Jönköping District Court to two years' imprisonment and two years and three months' imprisonment, respectively, for aggravated assault, writes Jönköpings-Posten.
Last summer, a group of men attacked a 20-year-old man in central Jönköping. The men kicked and punched him repeatedly. He also received several stab wounds, resulting in life-threatening injuries.
On Friday, the verdict was handed down against two individuals identified as responsible. They are convicted of aggravated assault because the district court considers that they have shown particular ruthlessness and brutality. However, they are acquitted of attempted murder since the investigation could not prove who inflicted the stab wounds on the 20-year-old.
The victim has stated that he had a drug debt to one of the suspects. The two convicted men are now required to pay 43,000 kronor each in damages.
The two men have denied any wrongdoing.
