Ligan manufactured amphetamine worth over 80 million kronor – first in a Skåne residential building and then in a barn on the countryside in Blekinge. Now, 12 people are being convicted of extremely serious drug crimes by the court of appeal.
The sentences have been reduced somewhat for several of the accused compared to the district court and land on imprisonment for between three and a half and nine and a half years, according to the court's press release.
In its assessment of the length of the sentence, the court of appeal takes into account that the convicted have been held in custody for a very long time – in some cases for more than three years.
At the same time, two people who had been convicted by Kristianstad district court of aiding and abetting a criminal were acquitted. They had been charged with cleaning a house in Osby where amphetamine was manufactured, but the court of appeal does not consider it proven that they were aware of what they were cleaning away.
The gang was charged with handling 275 kilograms of amphetamine and amphetamine oil, 57 kilograms of cannabis, large quantities of ecstasy, and a small amount of cocaine. The aim was to manufacture and then sell the drugs.
The operation was brought to an abrupt end through a coordinated police raid in May 2021. At that point, the police had been conducting surveillance for a longer period. The police and prosecutor have also gained insight into the accused's communication through decrypted content in the Anom phone service.
