Russian forces have taken over another village in Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, according to Russia's Defense Ministry. This concerns the village of Chigari, which has been "liberated" according to the Russian statement.

The day before, Russia announced that another village in the area had been taken over.

Russia has made a series of smaller advances in the Donetsk region this year, starting in Avdiivka in February. However, neither Russia nor Ukraine has made any major breakthroughs and are believed to be stuck in a stalemate in the war.

Two launch pads for the Patriot air defense system are reported to have been destroyed by Russian Iskander missiles, according to the state-owned Russian news agency Tass, citing information from the Defense Ministry in Moscow.

The attack is said to have taken place in the port city of Yuzhne in southwestern Ukraine, near Odessa. Ukraine's military confirms that two Russian Iskander missiles were fired from Russia, but does not comment on where they landed.

Patriot is an American air defense system used for defensive purposes against air attacks. The missiles have a range of 70 kilometers and can reach an altitude of over 23 kilometers.

During the night, a Ukrainian drone attack caused a fire in a Russian ammunition depot, according to local authorities, citing the AFP news agency.

On Telegram, the governor of the Voronezh region, Aleksandr Gusev, writes that several Ukrainian drones were shot down by Russian air defense during the night, and that the downed parts caused the fire in the depot.

No one is reported to have been injured. The information has not been confirmed by independent parties.
