Samsung's operating result for the second quarter landed at approximately 80 billion kronor. This means a result that is 15 times better than during the corresponding quarter last year.

The turnover for the quarter was approximately 571 billion kronor, an increase of over 23 percent compared to the same period last year.

Samsung is one of the few companies in the world that manufactures the advanced chips tailored to the latest AI technology. However, the company has had difficulty finding a favorable position on the market.

Now it seems to have turned around. According to Samsung's Kim Jae-jun, CEO of the chip division, the sales of such chips increased by 50 percent during the second quarter compared to the first. As a consequence, production will be stepped up.

We have secured nearly four times as many customer inquiries compared to last year, says Kim Jae-jun to journalists.
