Another ship has been attacked while passing Yemen in the Red Sea. The British military's organization UKMTO, which monitors global maritime trade, warns that the ship is unable to steer and has caught fire.
The ship is a Greek-flagged oil tanker that was on its way to a port near Athens, according to the Greek port authority.
The attack is believed to have been carried out by militiamen from the Iran-backed Houthi movement in Yemen. In addition to the Gaza War, it has carried out many similar attacks against mainly Israel-connected ships that have passed through the important trade route.
As in several previous cases, the attack took place outside the Houthi-controlled port city of al-Hudaydah.
According to UKMTO, the ship was attacked by a group of men who arrived in small boats. It is also said to have been hit by three projectiles and is now considered "not under command" – unable to maneuver due to exceptional circumstances.
There are no reports of personal injuries.
