Frölunda stuck in traffic as Rögle won

The Frölunda players remained on the bus when the away game against Rögle began. The away team conceded a goal just 21 seconds in and lost 3-4 in Ängelholm.

The SHL match between Rögle and Frölunda was delayed by 25 minutes. Frölunda's team bus got stuck in traffic on the E6 highway in a southerly direction after an accident between a car and a truck, according to Göteborgs-Posten.

My experience is that it should never affect anything. We are professionals and should be ready for everything that happens, said Frölunda coach Roger Rönnberg to TV4 Play before the face-off in Ängelholm.

"A good start"

Regardless of the reason, it seemed like the Frölunda players were still on the bus when the match started. Already after 21 seconds, Rögle's new acquisition Josh Dickinson picked up a rebound and scored the leading goal behind Lasse Johansson in the away goal.

The Canadian's first SHL goal for his new club.

A good start. Nice to get it out of the way, said Dickinson, who scored 16 SHL goals for Modo last season.

Spring's SM-finalist Rögle – lost to Skellefteå – has recently suffered two heavy injuries. It is doubtful whether Daniel Zaar will play at all this season – he has undergone an operation and will be out for at least half a year. Fellow forward Dennis Everberg will be out for a month after breaking his thumb against Färjestad in the premiere (3–4 loss after penalties).

Max Friberg equalized for Frölunda before the first period was over, but it was Rögle who led the goal protocol. Goals by Filip Johansson and Mattias Göransson made the Ängelholm club go up to a 3–1 lead before Christian Folin reduced in the middle act.

Sandin decided

In the third period, Frölunda, who won 5–2 over Leksand in the premiere, got a quick start when Nicklas Lasu scored 3–3 behind Christoffer Rifalk in the home goal just 95 seconds in.

After barely five minutes, however, the decision was made. Rögle counter-attacked and Linus Sandin could tap in a rebound to make it 4–3 after Leon Bristedt took the shot. New acquisition Dickinson was involved in the preparation and was credited with a total of one goal and two assists in his home premiere in the SHL for Rögle.

Luleå beat Leksand 5–1 and stands on maximum six points after two SHL rounds. In the meeting between the two top-tipped teams Växjö and Färjestad, the Värmland team won 5–2 on away ice. Timrå beat Örebro with the winning goal (4–3) at home.
