A certain increase, but not sufficient. This is how trade describes the development of clothing and shoe sales in September.

Clothing sales increased by 1.3 percent and shoe sales by 5.3 percent compared to September last year, according to the Swedish Trade Fashion Index. But compared to sales two years ago, it's about minus figures.

"Autumn is a critical period for trade, but unfortunately, we see that consumers are still cautious with their purchases. We see a slow increase, but far from the energy boost the industry actually needs", says Sofia Larsen, CEO of Swedish Trade, in a press release.
