Less than two weeks after the PlayStation game "Concord" was released for PlayStation 5 and PC, the game is being withdrawn – possibly forever. The servers will be shut down on September 6, Sony announces in a blog post, and no one will be able to play the game.
Those who bought the hero shooter – intended to compete with "Overwatch" and "Apex Legends" – will be refunded.
The game has been developed over eight years by developer Firewalk Studios and is estimated to have cost tens or hundreds of millions of dollars to develop. But the game totally flopped, and is estimated by analysts to have sold only 25,000 copies, reports IGN. On Steam, the game had a maximum of 697 simultaneous players, which can be compared to the Swedish-developed "Helldivers 2" which had a maximum of 458,000 players simultaneously.
