The American aircraft manufacturer Boeing, with the newly appointed CEO Kelly Ortberg, reports a loss of 6.2 billion dollars for the third quarter. Strikes that slowed down production contributed to the loss.

The production of the 737 aircraft model has come to a standstill due to the five-week-long strike against the assembly plant in Seattle.

Boeing, which has not reported a profit on an annual basis since 2018, reports a loss of 9.97 dollars per share for the period. Adjusted for one-time items, it was 10.44 dollars per share.

Analysts had on average expected a loss of 10.34 dollars per share.

The free cash flow was minus 1.96 billion dollars, which can be compared to the average forecast of minus 1.87 billion.

The turnover decreased by 1 percent to 17.8 billion dollars, which was slightly worse than the expected 17.9 billion.
