A 50-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder of his partner in a residence in Hässleholms municipality, something that Aftonbladet was the first to report on.
The police were alerted at 00.35 on Sunday night and found a woman, also in her 50s, seriously injured.
She was awake and able to talk when she was taken away by ambulance, but she has severe head injuries, says John Sjöblom, on-duty investigation leader at the police.
The woman is suspected to have been attacked with a blunt object. The police have a hypothesis about what happened, but do not want to make any further comments regarding the circumstances.
We are currently conducting witness interviews, but the man has not been questioned yet. He has been charged with suspicion of attempted murder, says John Sjöblom.
