Iga Swiatek is ready for the French Open final.
The Polish tennis star defeated world number one Coco Gauff in straight sets in the semifinal, 6–2, 6–4.
In the final, Italian opposition awaits in the form of Jasmine Paolini.
The fourth title at Roland Garros and the fifth overall in grand slam contexts is just one match away for Iga Swiatek.
Coco Gauff, who won the US Open in the fall and will rise to number two in the world after the French Open, had little to offer in the semifinal.
Swiatek swept the first set with 6–2 and when Gauff raised the level by breaking the Polish player's serve to 3–1 in the second, the 23-year-old Pole responded by winning four consecutive games.
20-year-old Gauff fought back again and saved two match points in her serve game when she reduced the score to 4–5, and another when Swiatek went ahead to 40–15 in her own serve. But on the fourth shot, the American hit the ball long, long out – and Iga Swiatek could celebrate her final spot.

Swiatek has won the French Open three of the last four years. In this year's tournament, she has lost only one set, even though she actually had a match point against Naomi Osaka.
The opposing finalist is untested at this level despite many years on the WTA tour. Italian Jasmine Paolini defeated 17-year-old Russian Mirra Andrejeva in two straight sets, 6–3, 6–1, and is ready for her first grand slam final in her career.
