The shooting took place in a densely populated area in the middle of the day – with automatic weapons, states prosecutor Lisa Åberg.
The 18-year-old man who was arrested afterwards had absconded from a placement at a HVB home, she says in a press release.
"He has no known connections to the murder victim, but it's something we will investigate further," says Lisa Åberg in the press release.
Shot into an apartment
The 18-year-old is detained as a suspect for murder and attempted murder, and the police and prosecutor are now investigating whether more people were involved in the murder.
In connection with the shooting in the Rosengård district, a nearby apartment window was also hit. The residents of the apartment were at home but were not injured. It is in this context that the teenager is suspected of attempted murder.

Preschool children had to be locked in
Only about 15 meters from the window that was hit, there is a preschool. The children were playing outside on the other side of the building and had to be locked in during the shooting.
There is no place that is completely safe in Malmö, says one of the principals to the newspaper.
The police received an alarm about loud bangs shortly after 1 pm on Monday. When the police arrived, they found a wounded 25-year-old man on the ground. He died on the spot.
According to the prosecutor, he had previously been suspected of serious crime.
