The whole weekend already on Fridays
All of TV4's major weekend ventures – except for live "Idol" on Saturdays – are released already on Fridays on TV4 Play.
We see no reason not to give the audience the opportunity to choose themselves when they want to watch our weekend entertainment. And in what order and in what context. And what day and what time. So it feels like a completely natural step, says TV4's channel and content director Fredrik Arefalk to TT.
For those who do not watch TV4 Play, however, for example "Bäst i test" (Friday) and "Vilket liv" (Sunday) remain in the weekend schedule. Later this fall, "Förrädarna" (Friday) and "Så mycket bättre" (which moves to Sundays) will follow the same model.
Popular police officers back
It's been two years since last, but this fall, Sara (Amanda Jansson), Magnus (Oscar Töringe), Jesse (Per Lasson), and the other police officers are back in "Tunna blå linjen" (premiere 27/9) on SVT.
Comedy ventures
In the new comedy series "Tabitas tattoo and more" (13/9, TV4), Mia Skäringers' character starts a protected residence for vulnerable women. Björn Gustafsson is back after the success in Melodifestivalen with the series "Koppla av" (23/8, SVT).
Reality classics – back to the roots
The softer version attracted too few viewers, so this fall "Paradise hotel" (9/9, TV3/Viaplay) is back with "hotter feelings, later nights, and more intrigue" as the channel puts it. Additionally, there will be a new round of "Gift vid första ögonkastet" (3/10) on SVT already this fall.
The Swedish series
SVT is betting on contemporary history in the series "The pirate bay" (8/11) and "Whiskey on the rocks" (in December) – the latter about the submarine drama in Blekinge 1981, with Rolf Lassgård as Prime Minister Thorbjörn Fälldin. On TV4, the political thriller series "Doktrinen" (12/11) will premiere, and Netflix will release "Helikopterrånet" (22/9), based on the real robbery in Stockholm 2009.
Foreign series
Susanne Bier directs Nicole Kidman in the miniseries "The perfect couple" (5/9, Netflix). There will also be new seasons of viewer favorites like "The diplomat" (31/10, Netflix) and also "Yellowstone" (14/11, SkyShowtime), but without star Kevin Costner.
Colin Farrell plays the title role in "The penguin" (19/9, Max), oil and intrigue are mixed in the drama series "Landman" (20/11, SkyShowtime) with Billy Bob Thornton and Jon Hamm, and Eddie Redmayne portrays an assassin in a new TV version of the classic 1970s film "Schakalen" (6/12, SkyShowtime).
