Through the joint company Oscarsteatern, Vicky Entertainment Production and 2Entertain will take over the operation of Lorensbergsteatern in Gothenburg.
The theater is located in central Gothenburg on Avenyn and Götaplatsen and had its first premiere in 1916. Since 1987, it has been operated by Galenskaparnas and After Shaves production company Kulturtuben.
"Incredibly fun and an honor to be part of Gothenburg's entertainment and cultural life and gain access to this fantastic theater", say Vicky and Johan von der Lancken, producers for Vicky Entertainment Production, in a press release.
They are also opening up the possibility of moving musicals, shows, and comedies from Oscars- and Chinateatern in Stockholm to Lorensbergsteatern.
Galenkaparna's Claes Eriksson says that the change of ownership feels necessary but melancholic.
"It's been six years since we had our own joint production and there won't be any more, so this change of ownership feels completely logical".
